Mughal Water Garden

Bradford's splendid Lister Park which opened to the public in 1870 has recently undergone a major refurbishment and stands today as one of the region's most popular recreational green spaces. Costing around £5 million the scheme has breathed new life into this 22.5 hectare site, located a short distance from the city centre. The magnificent boating lake has been restored to its former glory. Extensive landscaping has occurred and public facilities throughout the park vastly improved. Attracting over a million visitors a year, the park also regularly hosts a programme of events such as guided walks, sporting competitions and band concerts.

Once a deer park, Lister Park is on the English Heritage register of Parks and Gardens of Historic Interest in England, and it contains six listed buildings, including Cartwright Hall, a grade II listed art gallery. Other features include the  a childrens playground,  a botanical garden, wide tree lined walks and the latest feature, added in 1997, the spectactular Mughal Water gardens
